Symposia & Intellectual Life Events
Legislation is proud to host events on NYU School of Law’s campus that let students, faculty, and practitioners from around New York dig into the practical, pressing topics discussed in our pages. Footage and materials from these panels are retained here on our site. Some highlights from past years include:
- Our tribute to the legislative legacy of Sen. Ted Kennedy in February, 2011, featuring remarks by Justice Stephen Breyer and Kenneth Feinberg ’70. Material from the tribute was published in Volume 14, Issue 2.
- Our partnership with the NYU Law Alumni Association in 2013 for their fall conference, entitled “The Future of Voting Rights.” Video from the conference is available here.
- Our panels in 2015 on the campaign for marriage equality, including closing remarks by Robbie Kaplan, lead counsel for Edie Windsor in United States v. Windsor . Video is available here.
- A full list of past symposia is available here.
For the 2019-2020 academic year, Legislation is proud to announce it will be holding two events. On October 22, 2019, we held our Fall 2019 Symposium: Freedom and Forgiveness. On March 2, 2020, we will hold our Spring 2020 Symposium on cybersecurity and the regulation of deepfake videos.
